Aloha Surf Lessons was the concept of professional surfer Chava Greenlee. Chava’s dream was to provide the best possible experience for all levels of surfers. His passion for surfing and contagious love of teaching surfing is what separates his surf school from all others. Chava is a native of Kauai and began surfing at the age of 2! He has competed globally in the most prestigious Big Wave competitions in the world, including the Bonsai Pipeline, Sunset Beach and the world famous Waimea Bay where the elite Eddie AiKau big wave competition is held. He has been featured in numerous magazines and was one of the few surfers in Kelly Slater's Black & White film. Chava’s love and passion for surfing was the inspiration for starting Aloha Surf Lessons at Poipu Beach, the place he learned to surf.
All of Chava’s instructors are expert local surfers that were born and raised on Kauai. These instructors recognize the need for safety and are certified life guards, certified in CPR and first aid. More importantly, all instructors have been personally selected and trained by Chava and utilize the unique surf instruction methodology that Chava has developed.
The goal of Aloha Surf Lessons is to provide the safest, most enjoyable and memorable surfing experience. Group lessons, large group lessons and private lessons are available by reservation at either of the two surf school locations: Poipu Beach, next to the Sheraton Resort on the sunny south side of the island and Kalapaki Bay at Anchor Cove in Lihue, which is on the east side of the island near the air port. Our clients have proven that our efforts are successful as most of our new students are referrals. Aloha!
